Debra is the Director of Speech Therapy of All Star Physical Therapy. Currently, she is seeing patients at the Murrieta Hot Springs office.
Debra has over 30 years of experience as an ASHA certified speech language pathologist. She graduated with a Masters of Science from the University of Rhode Island in 1984 and worked in Rhode Island and Massachusetts in a variety of venues in order to perfect her current expertise areas. She moved to Temecula Valley in 1999, and has since developed a diverse knowledge within the field of Speech Language Pathology encompassing both pediatric and adult populations. Her clinical specialties include early intervention, children and adults with autism spectrum disorder, pediatric and adult swallowing disorders, aphasia treatment, cognitive disorders resulting from traumatic brain injury, motor speech disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, alternative and augmentative communication as well as speech articulation disorders, language processing disorders, stuttering, and voice disorders. She has proven to be an exceptional leader and mentor in the speech therapy community: Including the development and management speech therapy programs, clinical supervision of therapy staff, student interns and clinical fellows.
She has specialized certifications in Vital Stim Therapy (for treatment of swallowing disorders), PROMPT therapy, Hanen Parent Training for early intervention, and Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LVST). She is also trained in myofascial release for the treatment of swallowing disorders, and Beckman oral motor therapy.
Debra prides herself in being a dedicated professional and in providing each of her patients specialized treatment plans utilizing the best evidence-based practices to meet each patient’s specific needs so they will meet their full potential. She also believes strongly in parent education and training to aid in the facilitation of speech and language development at home and in the community, and caregiver/family support for those patients who have major life changes due to stroke, TBI, and other neurological disorders.
In her spare time, Debra enjoys gardening, reading, Bible study, needlework, cycling, swimming, or just enjoying a glass of wine with her husband in beautiful Temecula Valley wine country.
